Boy, is this one going to leave a mark.
Loved this fun and emotional new read by Phillipa Ashley! Ashley has a unique way of creating lovable and believable characters. The characters in It Happened One Night are no exception. The story is well developed and realistic. She captures small town living as well as the emotions that stir in the characters so well. This is a story of small town living, rethinking past choices, lost love, and discovering the possibilities of a second chance. It certainly captured my heart and will definitely remain a favorite.
If we could give half stars, I'd give this one 2 & 1/2.
I first read the UK version of this novel, Miranda's Mount, loved it so much I had to get the US version and read it again. Besides being well written, the characters are lovable and the setting is so beautifully described that it's a character itself.

This is one time when i can say...the movie is SO much better than the book!
I knew it! While reading this book I wanted to scratch my eyes out! Now that it's over, I really appreciate how Nick matures and his recollection of Jay Gatsby. (But I am glad this read is over. :) )
